Barbara Ann Machado, age 71, of Swansea, sister-in-law to the late John Carvalho, Jr., passed away surrounded by her loving family at St. Anne’s Hospital on April 17, 2015. Born in Fall River she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Theresa (Silvia) Machado. Barbara loved to read, going to the mall, cats, taking trips to Foxwoods and country music. Her favorite song was Crazy by Patsy Cline. Most of all she was a very warm and compassionate person whom everyone loved and she showed this by serving many years as a volunteer at a nursing home.
Barbara leaves behind her siblings Madeline Carvalho (late husband John) of Swansea and Frank Machado of Fall River; Niece Lisa Thomas of Swansea and Nephew Mark Carvalho of Somerset, as well as 3 Great-Nephews Ryan, Seth and Mark.
Her funeral, in conjunction with John Carvalho’s funeral, will be a Mass of Christian Burial that will take place on FRIDAY.
