Mary A. (Meo) Byrne, a 57 year resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at the Massachusetts General Hospital. She was 86 years old.
Mary was born in Natick on July 6, 1928, a daughter of the late Gus Meo and Jennie (Enera) Meo. She grew up in Natick where she was educated in the Natick Public School system and graduated from Natick High School. Mary was a homemaker for the majority of her life, devoting her time to caring for her family. Mary loved playing bingo as well as taking trips down to Foxwoods. She was also a member of the Golden Age Center in Charlestown. Family was, above all, the most important thing in Mary's life.
Mary is the beloved wife of 57 years to Thomas E. Byrne. She is the devoted mother of Marian Callahan of Charlestown, Joann Byrne of Swampscott, Robert "Bobby" Byrne and his wife Rose of Rockland, and Kathleen Doherty and her husband Joseph of Charlestown. She is the loving Grandma to Nicole, Brian, Meaghan, Nolan, and Jolie. She is the beloved sister of the late Rose Indoccio and Ignatius "Nick" Meo. She is the aunt to Joann Russo and Carol Indoccio-McNair.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mary's Funeral on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
