John F. Comeau

VERO BEACH, FL: John F. Comeau, age 90, of Vero Beach, FL, formerly of Andover, passed away at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach, FL on Saturday, April 11, 2015.
He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Brower) Comeau and the late Gloria (Parsons) Comeau.
Born in Chelsea on December 11, 1924, he was the son of the late J. Freeman Comeau and the late Rosalie (Saulnier) Comeau.
John was raised in Malden, and attended Beebe High School in Malden.
Following high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during World War II with the 62nd Traffic Battalion.
He was awarded several decorations for his military service including the Good Conduct Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon with a Bronze Service Arrowhead, and the Croix de Guerre with Palm. In addition, John participated in the 2nd Wave at Omaha Beach on D-Day.
In 1951, he entered the home building business. During his career, John built and developed numerous homes and apartment complexes in North Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire.
During his retirement, he enjoyed life in the warm Florida weather.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Mark Comeau of Grafton; six grandchildren, Janice Snyder and her husband Shane, John F. Comeau, III and his wife Barbara, Katie, Lindsay, Jillian, and Rachel Comeau; three great grandchildren, Alison, Isabella and Parker; his daughter-in-law, Patricia “Patty” (Donovan) Comeau of Methuen; also many nieces and nephews.
John was the father of the late John F. “Jack” Comeau, Jr. and was also pre-deceased by three brothers and two sisters.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Saturday, April 18, from 3-5 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. At the request of the family there are No Funeral Services. Private interment will be held at the West Parish Cemetery, Andover. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial V.A. Hospital, 200 Springs Rd., Bedford, MA 01730. www.farmeranddee.com
