Methuen – Andrew J. Belanger, 90 of Methuen, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at his home. He was the beloved husband of the late Annette A. (Fredette) Belanger.
Born in Methuen on February 13, 1925, Andrew was the son of Alcide and Lillian (Shannahan) Belanger. He was a tractor trailer operator with Associated Transport in Boston for 27 years until his retirement in 1975. He was also a bus driver on bus # 212 in the Methuen School System. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 603, where he was a union steward and was also a Communicant at St. Monica’s Church in Methuen.
Andrew will be deeply missed by his daughter, Donna Jalbert of Hampstead, NH; 2 sons, Joseph Belanger and his wife, Dorothea of Pelham, NH and Michael Belanger and his wife, Beverly of Lakeland, ME; 2 sisters, Carolyn Vartanian of Anson, ME and Margaret Dube and her husband, Dick of Salem, NH; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Andrew’s life by gathering for calling hours on Friday, April 17, 2015 from 5 to 7 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. His Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday at 9 AM at St. Monica’s Church in Methuen. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Andover.
