Abington – Shirley E. (Moore) Sabin 87, a longtime resident of Abington, died unexpectedly Tuesday April 14, after a short illness. She was the wife of 34 years to the late Robert E. Sabin.
Born in Braintree she was the daughter of the late Reginald and Verna (Graves) Moore.
She had attended the Huntington School of Brockton and Whitman High School.
Before her recent move to Whitman, Shirley had been a resident of North Abington for over 50 years, and prior to her retirement she had worked for the Regal Shoe Company and National Chair both of Whitman.
Shirley enjoyed her home & spent a lot of time outdoors gardening. She also enjoyed collecting and repairing Antique dolls, quilting, painting and many other arts & crafts.
She is survived by her children Janet MacPhelemy of Whitman and Robert W. Sabin of Lakeville and her sister Lorraine Parker of Whitman. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren Timothy & Gregory MacPhelemy, Jason & Robert Sabin and 5 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Donald Moore, Marilyn Emerson and Nancy Crawford.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services on Monday April 20 at 10 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. Visitation will be held Sunday April 19 from 3:00-5:00 PM.
