NATICK: Elaine G. (Weilant) Zwicker, age 91, a longtime Natick resident and retired Natick Public Schools employee, died peacefully on Saturday evening, April 11, 2015, at Beaumont Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She had been the beloved wife of the late Brice E. Zwicker for 66 years.
Born in Boston, she was a daughter of the late Freeman and Hazel (Jodrey) Weilant. Elaine was raised and educated in Natick and was a 1941 graduate of Natick High School. She and Brice met while visiting mutual friends in Detroit, where Brice was employed as a journeyman electrician. He moved to Natick after the couple married in 1948.
Elaine enjoyed creating a warm and happy home for her family. She had been a Cub Scout Den Mother and was a longtime member of the Altar Guild at Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church, her second home since childhood. When her children were entrenched in school, Elaine became employed as the Cafeteria Supervisor at the Coolidge Junior High School. When Coolidge closed she moved to the High School where she baked for the school lunch program. She very much enjoyed baking, and her students and family each benefited greatly from her talents. Elaine and Brice enjoyed trips to Nova Scotia to visit relatives and particularly venturing out to Washington State to see their daughter.
Predeceased by Brice last may in his 101st year, she is survived by their son, Ronald B. Zwicker of Natick; their daughter, Nancy E. Zwicker of Ravensdale, WA; and Elaine’s sister, Marion Giardini of Framingham.
A Funeral Service will be held in Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church, 39 East Central Street, Natick, on Friday, April 17th at 9:00AM. Interment will follow at Dell Park Cemetery. Visiting hours will be in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common, Thursday 6 – 8PM.
