New Bedford – Manuel Medeiros Jr., age 94 of New Bedford, passed away on Monday April 13, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the loving husband of Cisaltina (Araujo) and the son of the late Diamantina (Fernandes) and Manuel Medeiros.
Mr. Medeiros was born in St. Michael, Azores and worked as a Construction worker in this country for many years until his retirement.
His surviving family includes his wife Cisaltina, 2 grandchildren: Kevin Medeiros of Medfield, Ma and Timothy Medeiros of Dartmouth; 4 great-grandchildren: Missy Medeiros, Kyle Medeiros, Miguy Medeiros and Tyler Medeiros. Manuel was also the father of the late Antonio Araujo Medeiros.
His funeral will be Friday beginning in the funeral home at 8:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery. Visiting hours will take place in the funeral home on Thursday evening in the funeral home from 5 – 8 P.M.
