New Bedford – Maria F. Pacheco, age 93 of Dartmouth, passed away on Sunday April 12, 2015 at New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home with her loving family by her side. She was the widow of the late Jose L. Pacheco and the daughter of Violante (Ferreira) and Joao Inacio d’Aguiar.
Born in Povoacao, St. Michael, Azores, Mrs. Pacheco came to this country in 1968 and worked as a stitcher at the former Cliftex Clothing until her retirement. She was a dedicated parishoner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and enjoyed crocheting but most of all she was dedicated to her loving family.
Her family includes her children: Jose Luis Pacheco husband of Judith, and Antonio H. Pacheco husband of Maria all of Dartmouth; grandchildren: Cristina Lourenco, and Sherri-Ann de Medeiros; great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Adam, Alex, Tristan, and Victoria; siblings: Gil Aguiar of Dartmouth, Joao Aguiar, Luis Aguiar and Gilda Teves all of New Bedford and the late Manuel Aguiar as well as several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be Tuesday beginning in the funeral home at 8:30 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will take place in on Tuesday morning in the funeral home from 8:30 A.M. – 10:00 A.M.
