Obituary

Phyllis L. (Traniello) Green, a 30 year resident of Saugus and formerly of Somerville, entered into eternal life on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston following an extended illness. She was 73 years old.

Phyllis was born in Boston on October 17, 1941, a daughter of the late Louis Traniello and Madeline (Nardone) Traniello. She grew up in Somerville where she was educated in St. Joseph's Parochial School and graduated from Somerville High School in 1959. Phyllis began working at The Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge in 1975 and after 40 years of dedicated employment, she retired as Administrative Assistant to the Dean of The Sloan School. Phyllis loved to cook and she loved the quality and special occasions she was able to spend with her family and especially her grandchildren.

Phyllis is the beloved wife of 30 years to Thomas J. Green Jr. She is the devoted mother of Madeline Spinosa of Medford and John Spinosa and his wife Maria Cruz of Malden. She is the loving Nana to John O'Connor, Katherine O'Connor, Joseph Spinosa and Angel Spinosa. She is the step-mother of Thomas J. Green III and his wife Patricia of Westford. She is the step-grandmother to Amy Adams and her husband Kristofer, Thomas J. Green IV and Sarah Green. She is the beloved sister of Frank Traniello and his wife Francine.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Phyllis's Funeral on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 10 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main St. Melrose followed by her Committal Service at the Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum, 302 Elm St. Everett at 11 A.M. Visiting hours will be on Monday, April 13, 2015 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
