Joseph F. Conway passed away at the Beth Israel - Deaconess Medical Center on Tuesday morning after a brief illness. The son of the late Joseph and Helen (Punch) Conway, he was raised in Somerville. Joe served in the Army National Guard for several years after high school. A Medford resident for many years, he was a self-employed plumber and general contractor. Later in his career he worked as the plumbing and gas inspector for the City of Medford, a position he held for 16 years. An easygoing guy with a good sense of humor, Joe was a generous friend who made people feel good. He started Camille’s Ice Cream Shop in West Medford which is now known as CB Scoops. In his spare-time, he enjoyed puttering around and spending time at his lake house in Maine with family and friends.

The beloved husband of the late Beverly (Fontaine) who passed away in 1988, Joseph leaves his daughters Ann Walsh and her husband Matthew of Arlington, and Nancy Dutton and her husband Ben of Medford, his son Michael Conway of Derry, NH and his companion Jessica Leatham. Joe was a loving grandpa to Caila, Erin, Sarah and Jack. He also leaves his brother William Conway of Auburn and his sister Eileen Nash of Jacksonville, FL. Joe is also survived by his dear companion Elizabeth Barber.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Monday from 4 – 8 and again on Tuesday morning, April 14th at 9, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in Saint Raphael Church at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio St., Suite 304, Chicago, IL 60611 or Pulmonaryfibrosis.org
