Obituary

Laconia----Augustus "Gus" Bontorno 87, of Weirs Boulevard, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2015 due to complications associated with aging at Lakes region General Hospital.
Gus was born December 9, 1927 in East Boston, Mass. son of Dominic and Maria (Eramo) Bontorno.
Gus served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked as a glass engineer for Sylvania Lighting for over forty years. Gus was also a member of the Elks Lodge post #876. He will be remembered most for enjoying time on Lake Winnipesaukee, both fishing and spending time with family boating, as well as spending time at the greyhound races at Wonderland.
Gus is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Yvette (Pelletier) Bontorno, three sons; Alan Bontorno and his wife Elieen, of upstate New York, Chuck McCarthy of Mass. and Kevin McCarthy and his wife Karen of N.H., a daughter, Donna Markham and her husband James of upstate New York, three sisters; Leah Hood, Rose Bontorno and Ginger Bontorno , eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his first wife, Pauline (Caron) Bontorno son, Neal Bontorno, two brothers; Richard Mascetti and John Bontorno, a sister, Camilla "Sandy" Bontorno.
There will be no calling hours.
Services will be private.
