Geraldina Veira (Raposo) Torres, 92, of Hudson, died at her home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, April 2nd. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Manuel Torres on Feb. 2nd 2015.
Geraldina was born and raised in St. Michael, the Azores of Portugal, daughter of the late Manuel and Rosa Amelia (Vyeira) Raposo. She emigrated from Portugal along with her husband to the United States 34 years ago and resided in California for a short time before moving to Hudson where she has resided the past 27 years. She was a member of Saint Michael’s Parish in Hudson.
Geraldina and her husband Manuel cherished spending time with their families. They took great pride in the raising of their two daughters and later enjoyed caring for their grandchildren. She took great pride in the care of their home and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her two daughters, Maria Carmen Graca and Maria Fatima Janeiro, both of Hudson. She is also survived by her sister, Germana Veira Raposo of Portugal and her loving grandchildren, Sonia, Nelson, Carlos and Brian Graca, and Christopher, Dennis and Michael Janeiro.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 7th at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael’s Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael’s Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours on Monday, April 6th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe¬Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
