Obituary

NATICK: Margaret Louise (McQuillen) Guilfoil, age 88, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, died peacefully early on Tuesday morning, April 1, 2015, at the MetroWest Medical center in Natick. She was the devoted wife of the late Raymond P. Guilfoil for 61 years.

Born raised and educated in Ayer, she was a daughter of the late John and Anne (Harrity) McQuillen. Margaret was employed with a shirt manufacturing company when she met her future husband at a wedding. They married in 1947 and lived in Newton prior to settling in Natick in 1949.

Margaret created and maintained a warm and loving home for her growing family and her door was always open to friends and neighbors. Devoted to her faith, she had been a member of the Ladies Sodality of Saint Zepheran’s Church before becoming a parishioner of Saint Patrick’s Church. She was a lady of great faith and abundant love.

Predeceased by her son, Paul B. Guilfoil, on January 8th, she is survived by fours sons and two daughters, John D. Guilfoil of Uxbridge, Michael J. Guilfoil and his wife Sharon of Franklin, Peter R. Guilfoil of Natick, Ann Gilman and her husband Kenneth of Mashpee, Susan Weatherbee and her husband Ralph of Buzzards Bay, and Mark S. Guilfoil and his wife Debbie of Holliston; Paul’s wife, Lee Ann Guilfoil of Millville; 15 grandchildren, Danielle, Courtney, Benjamin, Shaun, Colleen, Megan, Katelyn, Jennifer, Patrick, Matthew, Sara, Jason, Jeffrey, Brianna, and Laura; 18 great-grandchildren, Vera, Nathan, Dylan, Peyton, Aedan, Evan, Robert, Amelia, Isabelle, Gabrielle, Victoria, Lily, Cassian, Layyal, Brenliann, Mariam, Liam, and Adam; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late John and Mary McQuillen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Patrick’s Church, 44 East Central Street, Natick, on Tuesday, April 7th at 10:00A.M. Interment will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery at 1:15P.M. Visiting hours will be in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common, on Monday 4 – 7P.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Margaret’s memory to Saint Patrick’s Church or the Saint Vincent DePaul Society, both at 44 E. Central St, Natick, MA 01760.
