Obituary

Haig Markarian age 103, of Natick died peacefully Saturday, March 28th at the Pines Edge Health Center at North Hill in Needham. His dedicated nephew and primary caregiver Jonathan Nee of Dedham was by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Gladys (Depoian) Markarian. A Natick resident for 60 years, he was born in Lowell the son of the late Asadoor and Anna (DerHoosigian) Markarian and brother of the late Mark Markarian. He was a graduate of Lowell Tech University, member of the Masonic Lodge of Natick, Order of the Eastern Star, Shriners, and Retired Federal Employees Association. Mr. Markarian was a Chemist at the Natick Army Labs for 35 years. During World War II he served in the United States Army as a Instructor in Chemical Warfare. Mr. Markarian was a longtime faithful member of the First Congregational Church in Natick. He is survived by his dear nephew Paul Markarian and his wife Louise of North Adams and their son Erik Markarian of North Andover, his devoted Masonic Brother Sarkis Sarkisian, Sr. and his wife Elsie of Natick, and many more loving nieces and nephews. He was also the uncle of the late Richard Markarian. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Friday, April 3, 2015 at 11:30 A.M., in the First Congregational Church, 2 East Central Street, Natick, MA 01760. Visiting hours are Friday morning from 9 to 11 A.M. in the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home 4 Park Street, at Natick Common. Interment Glenwood Cemetery South Natick. The family would like thank all of Mr. Markarian's caregivers for the dedicated care they provided to him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Haig and Gladys Markarian Scholarship Fund, c/o First Congregational Church at the above address.
