FALL RIVER…Gilbert A Chouinard, 65, of Fall River passed away unexpectedly March 21, 2015 at Charlton Memorial Hospital.
He was the devoted husband of Carol (Wrightington) Chouinard to whom he was married for 43 years.
Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Alban and Rita (Bussiere) Chouinard.
Mr. Chouinard was a communicant of St. Bernadette Parish, Fall River and was retired from a career in mechanical engineering. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the former Southeastern Massachusetts University (currently University of Massachusetts Dartmouth) and coached Junior Twilight League for many years with his cousin Don” Bucky” Chouinard.
Along with his wife, survivors include his son; Johnathan M. Chouinard and his daughter-in-law Robin of Fall River, a granddaughter; Alyssa Chouinard who was the light of his life, a sister; Elaine Damme and her husband Bruce of Delaware, several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Wednesday at 10 AM at St. Bernadette Parish, 529 Eastern Ave. Fall River, MA. Inurnment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Arrangements are entrusted to SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME, 1555 Pleasant St. Fall River, MA 02723.
