Obituary

WEBSTER – Frances A. (Lang) Landry Lonergan, 83, passed on Saturday, March 28, 2015 after a short illness. She was the loving wife of John J. Lonergan who died in 1985.
She leaves a daughter, Eva Marie “DeDe” and her husband Paul Potvin of Neptune City, NJ; a son, Lee H. Landry of Thompson, CT; 3 grandchildren, Kaitlin Joy Simpson and Richard Dean Simpson, both of Dunlop, IL and Dawn Marie Rayner of Colchester, CT and two nephews, Howard and Frederick Konopka. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan (Landry) Simpson in 2013 and by her sister Madelyne Marie Konopka.
She was born In Essex, CT, daughter of Howard L. and Delia (LaMay) Lang and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Middletown, CT. She studied at Morse Business School in Hartford for 2 years.
Mrs. Lonergan was a bookkeeper for Matson Mill in North Grosverdale, CT and then co-owner of Tri-Town Travel for many years before she retired.
She had many hobbies. In her youth she was a majorette in the Chester Fife and Drum Corps in Chester, CT. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, coin collecting, playing bridge, boating, motorcycle riding and making jewelry. Travel was her passion and she had been to most major cities in the world.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 9, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in The Lodge Restaurant, Gore Road, Route 16, Webster. Arrangements are under the direction of Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street.
