Janet Scott, 61, passed away peacefully with her husband by her side Sunday morning, March 29, 2015.
She was born November 10, 1953 in West Palm Beach, FL and moved to Jacksonville, FL in 1969. She graduated Cum Laude, National Honor Society from FSU in 1975 and received her CPA license in 1980. She fought a long courageous battle with breast cancer with the grace of God being with her day by day to the end. She was a member of Lakewood United Methodist Church and was a person of generous spirit who loved helping others. A devout Christian, she loved the Lord and blessed everyone’s life she touched. As a CPA she was loved by her clients and known for her compassion and constant willingness to help.
Janet is predeceased by her parents Walter and Janie Tarpley, brother Tim Tarpley, sister Nancy Tarpley. She is survived by her husband of nearly 37 years, C. William Scott, Jacksonville, FL; two sons, Craig and (Mary) Scott, two grandchildren Paisley and Liam, Jacksonville, FL; Paul Scott, Washington, DC; two sisters, Linda Thornton and husband, Earl, Jacksonville Beach, FL; Rhonda Shilling, Jacksonville, FL.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 11, at Lakewood United Methodist Church (6133 San Jose Blvd). In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Community Hospice of NE FL and the Tim Tebow Foundation.
