Obituary

Retired Weymouth Firefighter Thomas J. Gould, a Wakefield resident and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Friday, March 27, 2015 surrounded by his loving family following an extended illness. He was 64 years old.

Tom was born in Boston on April 20, 1950, a son of the late Thomas Gould and Helen (Hickey) Gould. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in St. Catherine's Parochial School and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1968. Tom joined the Weymouth Fire Department on November 4, 1974 and was assigned to Station One, Engine Company # 1 for his whole career as a firefighter. He retired on December 18, 1978 after 29 years of dedicated service to the Town of Weymouth. He was a member of the Weymouth Firefighters Union Local # 1616. Tom enjoyed traveling to Foxwoods and Atlantic City, watching the Patriots and Red Sox games but most of all, he enjoyed the special times with his grandchildren and extended family.

Tom is the beloved husband of Patricia Driscoll Gould. He is the devoted father of Kerry Gould and her husband Larry Faulkner of Wakefield, Thomas Gould and his wife Jennifer of Charlestown, Patrick Gould of San Francisco, California and Paul Gould and his fiancé Erin Barrett of Charlestown. He is the loving Pa to Patrick, Paul, Carolyn, Joseph, David, Brenna, Jillian, Alaina, Thomas, Timothy, Brayden and Barrett. He is the beloved brother of Richard Gould of Melrose, Margaret McMaster of Lynn and Timothy Gould of Peabody. He is also lovingly survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Tom's Funeral on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. His burial will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield. Visiting hours will be on Monday, March 30, 2015 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
