Obituary

John passed away following a brief illness on March 23, 2015 at Beverly Hospital.

John was born on October 15, 1938 in Cambridge, MA to the late John & Catherine (Sullivan) King. He is survived by his sisters, Dorothy and her husband George Pringle of Milton, NH and Kathryn and her late husband Lawrence Burns of Medford, MA. Loving uncle of Tracy Hinson of Rochester, NH and Brian Burns of Quincy, MA. Also survived by several loving great nieces and nephews.

He attended Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School. Before retiring he was employed at the Somerville Hospital. He was a resident of Somerville for the past 57 years. He leaves behind many friends at his apartment complex whom he loved to play cards and talk with. He loved playing hide and seek with his great nephew Austin and would hide “treasures” in his house for him to find. Known to his Salisbury Beach friends as Uncle Jelly Bean, he enjoyed his time there dancing and listening to music, while spending time with his sister “Dottie” and many friends.

Visiting hours in the Brown-Flaherty Funeral Home, 261 Washington Street, Union Square, Somerville on Thursday 2-6pm.

Funeral Service will be held at 5:30pm.

Relatives and friends gratefully invited.

Private interment will be held at a later date in Cambridge Cemetery
