“Eddie”
Augusta, GA – Mr. William “Eddie” Edward McCorkle. 59, entered into rest Sunday, March 22, 2015.
Eddie was a graduate of Evans High School and a 1980 graduate of University of Georgia with a Bachelors in business. He was a member of Stevens Creek Community Church, an avid member of the UGA Bulldog Club, and the NRA.
A country boy at heart, Eddie was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. Most of all, Eddie was a people person who was very much interested in their stories and sharing his stories in return. Through all of his troubles Eddie always kept a smile on his face and he never met a stranger. Everyone that was blessed to have Eddie as a friend will dearly miss him.
Family members include his mother: Peggy Wilson McCorkle of Evans; sister: Janet McCorkle Marlowe and husband Steve of Evans; brother: Michael Wayne McCorkle and wife Pam of Evans; nieces and nephews: Megan Ashley Crow and husband Brian, Jered Wells McCorkle, Caleb M. Stovall, and Mallory Elaine Marlowe; former wife and dear friend: Judy Knox McCorkle. He is preceded in death by his father: Edward McCorkle: sister: Deborah McCorkle Ashley; and many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Dave Willis and Rev. Marty Baker officiating.
