Obituary

Worcester – Robert “Bobby” Roy, 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 23, 2015. He is survived by his brother Henry F. Roy and wife Gertrude, sisters-in-law Claire Roy, Angelina Grimaldo, Mary Grimaldi, and Iris Grimaldi, bother-in-law William Grimaldo and his wife Rita, and many nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Bobby.
He was predeceased by his parents Henry A and Eugenie (Beaulé), his wife of 50 years, Loretta Grimaldo Roy, in 1997, his sister Yvonne Melanson and husband Frank, brothers Arthur, Anthony, Louis and wife Yvonne, Lionel and wife Florence, brothers-in-law Raymond Grimaldo and Joseph and Albert Grimaldi, and sister-in-law Carol and husband Vincent Sclamo.
Bobby was born in Worcester and lived here for his entire life except for his proud years as a Marine. He served in the 2nd division from 1943-1946 and saw action in the South Pacific. He worked for 38 years at Melville Corporation. Bobby’s sense of humor and optimism were present right up until the end. He was always quick with a smile, a joke or a whistle. He will be missed.
A Funeral Mass will be held at North American Martyrs, 8 Wyoma Dr, Auburn, MA at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 27 with a reception to follow at the Chester P. Tuttle Post 279, 88 Bancroft St. Auburn, MA. No calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation http://jdrf.org/ (800) 533-CURE (2873).
