PORT ST. LUCIE, FL – Armando L. Botta, 41, of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, was Called Home on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at home. He was born in Springfield on March 13, 1974, the beloved son of Armando M. Botta and Kathleen A. (Ford) Botta of Agawam. He was raised in the South End section of Springfield and moved to Agawam in 1989. He had lived in Chicopee for a few years before moving to Port St. Lucie in 2010. He was employed as a cook at the Massachusetts Career Development Institute in Springfield. An avid sports fan, he was loyal to his New York Yankees and the Miami Dolphins. Above all, he showered his family with his love and affection which was returned to him a thousand fold. In addition to his beloved parents, he leaves his beloved wife, Ary (Hidalgo) Botta. They were married on February 16, 2008 and were blessed with seven years of happiness together. He also leaves his three loving children, Christian R. Gonzalez, Xavier A. Gonzalez and Essenza D. Botta; his two dear sisters, Kelli A. Gauthier and her husband, Eric, of Feeding Hills, MA and Maria T. Botta and her husband, Brian Bruneau, of Agawam; his cherished nephew and four cherished nieces; and his many dear aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and extended members of the Botta, Gonzalez and Hidalgo families. His funeral will be held on Saturday morning, March 28, 2015 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107 (the funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 123 William Street, Springfield, MA 01105. His burial will follow the Mass at Saint Michael Cemetery, 1601 State Street, Springfield, MA 01109. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 27, 2015 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. His family has requested that memorial donations be made in his memory to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater New England Chapter, 101A First Avenue, Waltham, MA 02451.
