Obituary

Mary-Ellen (Smith) Beshara, 59, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, March 22nd, 2015 at the Lawrence General Hospital. Mary-Ellen suffered a stroke in June of 2014 and had worked tirelessly to regain her strength everyday. Mary-Ellen took on this challenge as she did all of her physical challenges throughout her life. Her positive attitude and unwavering faith were an example to all of us.

Mary-Ellen was the wife of Richard P. Beshara and the mother of Rob and Erin (Beshara) Prindle and Brad and Gissette (Cabrera) Beshara. She had 5 grandchildren, Drew, Brady, Noah, Wyatt and Maize whom she adored.

Mary-Ellen was a graduate of St. Mary's High School and Northern Essex Community College. Although she worked at various jobs her greatest accomplishment was her family; she devoted all that she had to ensuring that both her immediate family and her large extended family knew that they all had a special place in her heart.

Mary-Ellen was the 10th child of the late Lawrence P. and Maria Marguerita (Caffrey) Smith. She is survived by twelve of her siblings and their partners; Maria M. Torrisi, Lawrence P. Smith, Jr. and his wife Linda, Arthur B. Smith and his husband Gary Dunn, Patrick J. Smith and his wife Joan, Kathleen A. Burke and her husband David, Barbara J. Casey and her husband William, Cornelius J. Smith and his wife Anne Marie, Richard J. Smith and his wife Maureen, Francis A. Smith, Paul M. Smith and his wife Kathleen, Christine M. Burke and her husband Thomas and Elizabeth A. Smith and her wife Mary Johnson. She is predeceased by her brothers Frederick W. Smith and James A. Smith and her brother-in-law Thomas P. Torrisi.

She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respect on Wednesday, March 25th, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA.

A celebration of her life will take place on Thursday, March 26th, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Michael Parish, 196 Main Street, North Andover, MA. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen, Ma.
