Obituary

Whitman – Eleanor B. Nadell 89, a longtime resident of Whitman, died Sunday March 22 after a period of failing health.

Born and raised in Weymouth she was the daughter of the late Stanley W. and Mildred S. (Tirrell) Nadell and a graduate of Weymouth High School, Class of 1943.

Prior to her retirement she had worked for over 40 years as a dispatcher for the Boston Gas Company where she had also served as the Union Secretary.

Eleanor had been an active member of the Whitman community for 40 years, working as Director for the Council of Aging, serving on the Republican Town Committee, and had worked at the polls for town elections.

She was a member of the Congregational Church of Whitman and the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her brother Lloyd S. Nadell and his wife Edith of Whitman as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Everett Nadell, Dorothy Burrell, Francis Nadell and Leonard Nadell.

Her funeral service will be held Wednesday March 25 at 2:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will be at a later date in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Weymouth. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 12:00-2:00 PM.
