NORTH CAROLINA - Mrs. Dorothy (Langworthy) Belida, 86, formerly of Tewksbury passed away Tuesday March 17th at The Covington in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Dorothy was born December 22, 1928 in Lowell, Massachusetts, a daughter of the late Henry and Dorothy (Swain) Langworthy and loving wife of forty four years to the late Anthony Belida.

Dorothy was educated through the Dracut school system. She moved to Tewksbury when she married her husband Anthony in 1953 and was a resident for over fifty years until she moved to Raleigh, North Carolina in 2012 to live with her daughter Dawn and her husband Jerry McCarthy.

She received her certification at Lowell Academy for Hairdressers and began a career in hairdressing by opening a hair salon on Bridge Street in Lowell. Dorothy relocated her business in 1953 to her home in Tewksbury where she owned and operated Dorothy’s Beauty Center.
