Lidia (Carias) Rodriguez, a 13 year resident of Woburn and former 28 year resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the Medford Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Medford following a lengthy illness. She was 86 years old.
Lidia was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras on August 3, 1928, a daughter of the late Pedro Carias and Julia (Almendares) Carias. She grew up in Tegucigalpa,Honduras where she was also educated. She immigrated to the United States with her husband and children in 1966 and settled in Charlestown. She worked at the Cole Hersey Factory, working with car switch electronics for 20 years. Lidia was devoted to her family above all else. She was a member of BAHA'I.
Lidia is the beloved wife of 52 years to Juan V. Rodriguez. She is the devoted mother of Silvia Rodriguez and her husband George of Stoneham, Alexis Garcia and her husband Luis of Woburn, Carlos Rodriguez of Reading, Juan Rodriguez of Woburn, Julia Rodriguez of Reading, and Waldina Cameron and her husband David of Woburn. She is the loving Nana of 9 grandchildren and the late Amanda Nadeau and Andrew Brooks, and also 9 great-grandchildren. Lidia is also survived by her four sisters and one brother.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Lidia's Funeral on Monday, March 23, 2015 at 9:30 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main St. Melrose followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 11 A.M. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday March 22, 2015 from 2 to 6 P.M. in the funeral home.
