Obituary

Mr. John V. Amaral, Jr., of Taunton, died Tuesday, March 17 at his residence following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Theresa A. (Alvilhiera) Amaral. He was born 82 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late John V. and Mary (Garcia) Amaral, Sr. He was educated in Taunton, having graduated from the former Taunton Vocational High School, and had been a lifelong city resident. Prior to his retirement, John was employed as a carpenter for Wheaton College, Norton, for 20 years. While employed by the former Diniz Construction Co., he took great pride in the many houses he built. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Germany during the Korean War. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan, and also enjoyed his pets, gardening, and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Parish in Taunton.
In addition to his wife, he leaves: 1 son: John M. Amaral of Taunton; 2 daughters: Terri Daley of Taunton, and Andrea Correia and her husband, Alfred of Taunton; 2 brothers: Joseph Amaral of Taunton and Richard Amaral of Miss.; 4 grandchildren: Justine, Ethan, and Kasey Correia, and Taylor Daley; 1 great grandson: Brody Correia, and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Friday, March 20 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours are respectfully omitted.
