Claire D. (Marquis) Pellerin, 90 of Peabody and formerly of Salem passed away to join her husband and loving family on Saturday, March 14, 2015. Claire was a resident of the Peabody Glen Healthcare Center in Peabody. She was the wife of the late Alphonse Pellerin.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Omerille and Bertha (Michaud) Marquis. “Cookie,” as she was affectionately known had been employed by the former Pequot Mills of Salem for many years. She spent most of her life devoted to her family and close friends. Claire was a long time member of the former St. Joseph Parish of Salem and the Salem Council on Aging.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Daisy Marquis of Peabody, and eight nieces and nephews, Raymond, Thomas & Priscilla Marquis, Marie Abramo, Diana Adams, Cathy Erwin, Paul Murphy and Bertha Cassatt, as well as many grandnieces and grandnephews. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Raymond & Leo Marquis and sisters, Rose Marquis and Lorraine Murphy.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visiting hours on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem, and to her funeral service to follow at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home.
