Son of the late Commander John J. and Elizabeth (Kelley) Shea. Devoted father of John T. Shea and his wife Catherine Baudino of Gloucester, Laura S. Knowles and her husband Michael of Proctor, VT, Christine E. Pitts and her husband Daniel of Marshfield. Grandfather of Megan, Calvin, Colleen, Mitchell, Brianna, Christopher, Micaela, Caroline, and Genevieve. John was a retired Professor of Classics Dept. Boston College. Graduate of Boston College High School 1954, Boston College 1958, and received his Doctorate of Classical Philology from Harvard University 1974.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 1305 Highland Ave., NEEDHAM, Wednesday at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass in St. Bartholomew Church, Needham, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
