METHUEN – Gloria E. (Merrill) Marcoux, 91 of Methuen passed away on Saturday March 14, 2015 at the Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Methuen surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of Alfred and Anna (Fleming) Merrill. Gloria was raised and educated in Boston and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Malden and was the Class Valavictorian, Class of 1942, and received a full scholarship to Emmanuel College. She worked for the IRS in Andover and retired at the age of 71. She loved to travel, doing crossword puzzles, reading was her passion and enjoyed spending time with her large family.
The widow of Joseph G. Marcoux, she is survived by her children, Eva G. Mushow and her husband Ronald of Haverhill, MA, Carol E. Trahan and her husband Lawrence of Hampstead, NH, Janet T. Moury and her husband Raymond of Salem, NH, Eileen R. Raymond of Haverhill, MA, Joyce E. Powell of Manchester, NH, Paul J. Marcoux and his wife Sheila of Pelham, NH, Madeline McGrath of Salem, NH and Rosemarie Robinson of Haverhill, MA. 21 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Gloria was predeceased by her daughter, Linda L. Moro and her two sons, Louis J. and Edward T. Marcoux, and also her sister Doris Haynes. Gloria will forever be remembered for her love and compassion and care to all who knew her.

Visiting hours for family and friends will be Tuesday from 2:00p.m. – 4:00p.m. and 5:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street Methuen, MA 01844. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00a.m. in St. Monica’s Church in Methuen, MA with burial to follow in the Elmwood Cemetery also in Methuen, MA.
