Obituary

WORCESTER-Arthur E. Benoit, 62, ended his courageous battle with cancer, and joined his parents, on Friday March 13 at Worcester Health Care Center, surrounded by his loving sisters.

Arthur leaves his four sisters; Myrna L. Plant of Worcester, Rena I. Doyle of Worcester and her partner Daniel Voellings, Denise Rizzuto and her husband Raymond of Deltona, FL and Brenda Buron of Ashtrabula, OH. A sister, Cynthia Creamer of Pennsylvania predeceased him.


He was born in Worcester, the only son of the late Edward H. Benoit, Jr. and Helen S. (Prouty) Benoit and graduated from Burncoat High School. After high school, Arthur enlisted in the Army and served two tours in Korea at the end of the Vietnam Era. He was affiliated with the Soldier-On facility in North Hampton, MA for several years.


Arthur’s sisters would like to thank the nursing staff at Worcester Health Care Center and the VNA Hospice staff for the wonderful care they provided.


The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 17 at CALLAHAN FAY & CASWELL FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle Street. A visiting hour will also be held on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service in the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.
