Jean D. Joe
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Thursday, March 12, 2015, Mrs. Jean D. Joe, 91, loving wife to George Joe.
Mrs. Joe was a native of Ashland, KY. She is the daughter of the late Woo Hing Dick and May Dick. She married George in July 1948 and operated a grocery store on East Boundary. She was a member of Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association and Chinese Women’s Club. She was also a member of First Baptist Church of Augusta.
Family members in addition to her husband include her sons: Ronnie, Dennis, and Brian Joe. She is preceded in death by Soonta Jue, William Dick, Elizabeth Young, Charles Dick, Frances Moy, Junior Dick, Margaret Chin, and Tommy Dick.
A funeral service will be Monday, March 16, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Dr. Greg DeLoach officiating. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association, c/o 419 Scotts Way, Augusta, GA 30909 or to the American Cancer Society, 2607 Commons Blvd., Augusta, GA 30909.
