Obituary

Mary C. Wynn of Halifax passed away on Wednesday March 11, 2015 , Wife of Andrew Wynn for 48 wonderful years, Beloved mother of Andrea Brodeur and her husband Arthur of Hanson and Sonya Scalzi of Brockton, Sister of Herbert, Raymond, Christopher, Dorothy, Verna, Mary Liza, Ethel and Lillie. Mary is also survived by her Mother Carrie Gilliam, Mary was the amazing Nana to eight Grandchildren; Troy and his wife Yuki, Zachary, Starciah , Eric, Mystikal, Dakotah, Jason and Devin. Mary was delighted to welcome and enjoy her first Great Grandchild, Phillip Kento Requena.
Mary enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending their sporting events and school activities and always encouraged their educational success and endeavors.
Mary was born in Roper, North Carolina. The daughter of Carrie (Carter) Gilliam and the late Raymond Gilliam , Mary moved from North Carolina to Massachusetts in 1961. Mary embraced her job as a stay at home mom before returning to the working world as a newspaper reporter where she could exhibit her passion for writing. Mary then returned to school to pursue an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. She earned her Degree at Massasoit Community College in 2000. Mary followed her dream and became a child care and pre school teacher at the Lil’ Munchkin Child Care and Preschool in Scituate. Mary retired from working full time in 2010 but missed working with children and returned to work part time at Lil Munchkins until 2014.
Mary enjoyed traveling the world and has travelled to France, Alaska, Hawaii, Scotland, London, Canada and most recently visited the Grand Canyon. Mary truly enjoyed family time and holidays. She is famous for creating delicious desserts. Mary was also a Reiki and Angel Practitioner and loved to share her wisdom with family and friends. Mary was also an active member of the South Shore Writer's Club.
Mary was a faithful member of the United House of Prayer for over 50 years and served as an Usher for several of those years.
Services will be held on Sunday March 15, 2015 From 1 to 3 pm at the Richard Davis Funeral Home located at 373 Court St Plymouth, Ma All other Services are private
