Obituary

WORCESTER-Russell G. Paquette, 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12 at Dodge Park Rest Home, just shy of his 93rd birthday-or as he would have put it, he’s “been called to go play the big golf course in the sky”.

His wife of 56 years, Phyllis H. (Dakin) Paquette predeceased him on March 30, 2007. He is survived by several nephews and nieces and great nephews and great nieces. He was predeceased by two sisters, Jeanne M. Paquette in 2000 and Lucille R. Daley in 2003.

He was born in Worcester, son of Clarence I. and Ethel C. (Rousseau) Paquette and graduated from South High School and Boston University. He proudly served as a Boatswain’s Mate, First Class in the United States Navy during World War II. Russell worked for Eagle Pencil Company retiring after many years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Alhambra Council # 88 and the Main South American Legion Post # 341. The family would like to thank the staff at Dodge Park Rest Home for their extraordinary care over the past several years.

According to Russell’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. A private interment at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne will be held at a later date. He always said he’d retire to the Cape. Arrangements are in the care of CALLAHAN FAY & CASWELL FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester.
