Obituary

Robert X. Murphy, Sr., 80, of Franconia, NH for many years and formerly of Foxboro, died Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the Harrington House in Walpole. He was the longtime companion of the late Barbara Leydon.

Born in Boston on December 14, 1934, he was the son of the late Jeremiah and Mary (Ryan) Murphy.

Before his retirement, he was a commercial printer in Abington for over 40 years.

An avid sports fan, Mr. Murphy loved his Boston sports teams and his beloved New England Patriots.

He is survived by three daughters, Jean Geneseo and her husband Richard of Medway, Joan White of Medfield and Maryellen Lamarre and her husband Jay of Attleboro and a son Robert X. Murphy, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Sunrise, Florida.

He is also survived by four grandchildren, Nathan and Zachary Geneseo, Stacy Green and Patrick Murphy and one great-granddaughter Khloie Geneseo.

He was the brother of the late Thomas Murphy.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial Mass at St. Mary’s Church, 58 Carpenter St. in Foxboro on Saturday, March 14 at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to a charity of one’s choice.
