Obituary

Andover-James E. Allen of Andover passed away Monday, March 2.

His wife, Patricia A. (Sheary) Allen passed away in 1990. He leaves two sons, James C. Allen of Andover and Garrett S. Allen of Leeds, ME; a daughter, Liane E. Allen, of Newbury, VT; two grandchildren, Natalie Nicholson and Matthew Allen; a brother, George W. Allen of Wilbraham; a son-in-law Andrew Nicholson; a daughter-in-law Rebecca Burrow; and nieces and nephews. He was born in Worcester, son of George W. and Helen (Dolan) Allen, and beloved step-mother Mary A. (McGrath) Allen.

He graduated from South High School, where he played Varsity baseball. He then graduated from the College of the Holy Cross. James was an Army Veteran of the Korean War.
James was an engineer for Raytheon and EG&G Dynatrend Inc. for many years, where he kept the magnetic-levitation train initiative alive, before retiring. He was an avid WWII History buff.

The Funeral Service will be Saturday, March 7 at 10:00AM in Callahan Fay and Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street. Burial will follow in Saint John's Cemetery. Visiting Hours are Friday, March 6, from 3-6 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation,30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016.
