Patricia Quenzel (Hawkins) age 85 of Sharon passed away March 2nd at the Norwood Hospital. Born in and raised in New York and graduated from Hofstra University. She went on to earn her Master’s in Education from Bridgewater State and taught 2nd and 3rd grade in the Sharon Public Schools for many years and was the founder of the Sharon Alternative School in the early 70’s. She was a former member of the Sharon League of Women Voters and the Unitarian Church in Sharon. Mother of Mark Quenzel and his wife Candace Fisher of W. Hartford, CT, Erik Quenzel and his wife Christi Skill of Canton, Keith Quenzel and his wife Judy of Boxford and the late Bryan Quenzel. Mother in law of Beth Shirman of Sutton. Sister of Daniel Hawkins of NY, Roger Hawkins of NJ, Joan Carlson of PA and Deborah Hawkins of Vermont. Grandmother of Jared, Jeffrey and Emily Quenzel. Relatives and friends invited to attend visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Thursday at 4-8 pm. A private burial will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. | |||||
