BENT William died suddenly on March 1, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Teresa Chapman of Dedham. He was the loving father of Kathleen Bent and Kristin and Andy Francisco of Rockland, and William Bent of Charlestown. He was the caring stepfather of Anthony and Dorothy Aiello of Lake Oswego, OR, Steven Aiello of Waltham, and Elisabeth and Ed St. George of Dedham. He is also survived by his brother James and wife Marilee of Quincy, and his sister Mary D. Shelton of Malden, and predeceased by his brother Charles and his sister Anne Marie Murray. He was the venerable Grandfather of Haley, Cameron, Aja, Joey, Karinne, Alison, Gavin, and Elaina.
An avid and dedicated martial artist, Bill achieved a fifth degree black belt in Karate, studying and practicing the art faithfully for 50 years. Bill's stories and colorful accounts of his life experiences were enjoyed by all. His knowledge of history and trivia, which he was always eager to share, was vast and impressive. In his retirement, he discovered a love for painting. His booming laugh will be greatly missed.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home 456 High St. DEDHAM Thursday at 9am. Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anne’s Church, Readville at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Wednesday from 4-8pm. Interment Private.
