Gilford-----James E. Peters, 66, of Cotton Hill Road, died at home after a long illness on Tuesday February 24, 2015.
James was born in Laconia on August 21, 1948 the son of Edward H. and Theresa (Huard) Peters. He was a lifelong resident of Gilford and attended Gilford Elementary School and graduated with honors from Laconia High School class of 1966.
James was employed as parts manager by New Hampshire Peterbilt in Bow, NH. He enjoyed skiing, boating and 4-wheeling. James was a member of the Laconia Congregational Church.
Survivors include a son; Commander Justin D. Peters, U.S.C.G. and his wife, Kelly, a grandson, Sean and a granddaughter, Riley, all of Mt. Pleasant, SC, his mother, Theresa Peters, of Laconia; a brother, Allen R. Peters and his wife, Ellen, of Laconia and an aunt, Priscilla Riggs, of Manchester. He was predeceased by his father, Edward H. Peters.
A graveside service will be held at 2PM on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Bayside Cemetery in Laconia.
