Fairhaven – Georgianna Bettencourt, age 97, passed away on February 28, 2015 at Our Lady’s Haven. She was the widow of Charles Bettencourt and the daughter of Augusta (Furtado) and Joseph Almeida.
Born in Dartmouth, she lived in this area all of her life and worked as a Winder at Cornell Dunilier until her retirement.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews and was predeceased by her siblings: Joseph Almeida, Antone Almeida, Manuel Almeida, Emily Azevedo and Mary Arruda.
Mrs. Bettencourt will be cremated. Services and Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation in her memory can be made to your favorite animal charity. Arrangements were placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford
