Obituary

Aubry Dykes, 77, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, February 27, 2015 at The Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Monday, March 2, 2015, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Harris Johnson and Bro. Sammy Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Sunday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.

Mr. Dykes was born March 26,1937, in Hazlehurst, Georgia to the late Dewey & Maria Creamer Dykes. He was a former mechanic for Stone Oil Company and owned and operated Aubry’s Amoco as well as Dykes Trailer Park. He enjoyed feeding his catfish and being outdoors. He loved to take walks when he was able. Mr. Dykes attended Calvary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Dykes of Fitzgerald; his three sons: Wayne & Missy Dykes, Curtis & Candace Dykes, and Tony & Judy Dykes, all of Fitzgerald; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; step-children: Robert & Brenda Johns, Raymond & Connie Johns, Tracy & Jennifer Burnam, and Wesley & Ginger Burnam; five step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren as well as one brother, Marcus & Jonetta Dykes of Hazlehurst. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ottis “Red” Dykes & Allen Dykes.
