Obituary

Alice Emily (Sarcione) Keleher, R.N., 89, Alice was born on Sept 19, 1925 to the late Yolande Duhamel and Ernesto Sarcione. Born and educated in Lawrence, MA. Alice was a graduate of Lawrence High School, class of 1944 and the Franklin County Medical Center in Greenfield, MA, where she received her R.N. Alice resided in Methuen, MA. Alice worked in many local health care facilities, including the Clover Hill, Hale and Lawrence General Hospitals, and many local nursing homes, retiring at age 81. Alice was a parishioner of St. Monica Church and strongly believed in her Catholic faith. She was also a member of the Sacred Heart Auxiliary and the St. Jude League. Alice enjoyed ballroom dancing, big band music, ceramics, and was a gifted seamstress. Alice was also an avid collector of Pinocchio memorabilia. Her family though was her greatest joy especially her loving grandchildren. She enjoyed spending countless hours with them. She enjoyed playing games, cards and pool along with having lunch time dates.
Preceded in death by parents Ernesto and Yolande, Alice was the widow of John J. Keleher (former Methuen English teacher). She is survived by her son Kevin and his wife Paula, daughter Ann, son Brian and his wife Sherry, and daughter Jane Tremblay and her husband Robert, all of Methuen, and five granddaughters: Megan Laferriere and her husband Joseph of Dracut, Kathleen Keleher of San Diego, CA, Alicia Tremblay, Abigail Tremblay and Tory Keleher of Methuen. Other family members include her brother-in-law Joseph Keleher and his wife Mary and sister–in-law, Margaret (Keleher) Caffrey all of North Andover. She was predeceased by her sister-in-law Elizabeth Keleher.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Sunday March 1st from 1-6 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday March 2nd at 11 AM at St Monica’s Church in Methuen with entombment to follow at St Mary Immaculate Mausoleum in Lawrence. A special thanks is given to all her Doctors who cared for her. Also, the wonderful staff at the Holy Family Hospital Cancer Management Center along with the nursing staff on St. Camillus, who’s kindness and compassion were greatly appreciated. Memorials may be made to the William L. Lane Cancer Management Center at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA.
