Obituary

Albert M. “Al” Chapman of Marlborough passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at the Kindred Hospital of Natick at the age of eighty-four.
Born and raised in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Hyram M. and Helen M. (Dansereau) Chapman.
Albert enlisted in the United States Navy and served our country proudly aboard the USS New Jersey during the Korean War and then joined the United States Marine Corp reserves after his discharge. Al played baseball and was the catcher for the Navy’s team while serving in the military.

Al was a semi-pro softball player, an avid golfer, coached little league and was a basketball referee. He was a member of the National Ski Patrol and a first-aid instructor for the American Red Cross. Al enjoyed the water, cruises and had a “one-liner” for every occasion.
Mr. Chapman was the devoted husband of Bette T. (Tainter) Chapman of Marlborough and together they shared forty-six years of marriage.
He was a loving father of Gary A. Chapman and his wife Susana of Plymouth, NH and the late Thomas F. Chapman. Cherished grandfather of Alejandra Chapman, also of Plymouth, NH. He was predeceased by five brothers and one sister and is survived by several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St., at Natick Common on Sunday, March 1st from 2:00-5:00PM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
