Obituary

Mr. Robert L. Bissonnette, of Brockton and formerly of Taunton, died unexpectedly Thursday, February 26. He was born 68 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late Henry and Florence (Morin) Bissonnette. He was educated in Taunton and had been a Brockton resident for the past 12 years. Robert was employed at the V.A. Medical Center, Brockton for the past 10 years. He was previously employed at Taunton State Hospital for over 25 years. He was a licensed painter for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for over 30 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, and received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal. He was a Life Member of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 57. He enjoyed flea markets, antiquing, and animals. He was a communicant of the former St. Jacques Church in Taunton.
He leaves: 1 daughter: Lynn R. Colley of Cary, N.C.; 2 brothers: Leo R. Bissonnette of North Attleboro and Mark P. Bissonnette of Taunton; 3 grandchildren: Reece William Colley, Lillie Ann Colley and Aslyn Noelle Colley, and several nieces and nephews. Robert was also the brother of the late Henry A. Bissonnette and Paul G. Bissonnette.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, Taunton, on Monday, March 9 at 7:00 P.M. Visiting Hours will be held prior to the Service, Monday, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
