Joseph Aprile, Sr., of Medford died Sunday, February 22, in the Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Medford. Born and raised in Arlington, he was the son of the late Domenic and Rosa Maria (Femia) Aprile. Joseph lived in Somerville for 10 years before settling in Medford. He was employed as a machinist, building equipment for use in biomedical research.

Joseph was the beloved husband of Elizabeth (Volturno) Aprile and the devoted father of Diane Shaw and her husband Raymond of Bradford, Joseph Aprile Jr. of Medford, Lisa DiDomenico and her husband Michael of Derry, NH. He was the loving grandfather of Matthew & April DiDomenico and the loving step-grandfather of Andrew & Alison Shaw. Joseph was the brother of Phyllis Caprio, Sonny Aprile and his wife Virginia, all of Arlington, and is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and God-children.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Monday, March 2 at 10AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, at 11AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday, March 1 from 2 through 8PM. Services will conclude with burial at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington.
