Elvira "Vera" T. (Menery) Proctor, 86, a life-long resident of Methuen, passed away on Monday, February 23rd, 2015 at her home.
She was born on June 26th, 1928 in Providence, Rhode Island and was the daughter of the late Felix and Theresa (Fascione) Menery. Vera moved to Lawrence as a baby and was educated in the local schools.
She worked for Sears in the Shipping Department, at Milton Shoe Company, and in the 1950's she worked for the Eastern Mass Transfer Soda Fountain and for Russems Clothing Company for many years. Vera was a long time member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Caritas Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, according to most people in the Merrimack Valley Area, she was the Ambassador of the Hospital. She would always have a smile on her face as you came through the front doors of the hospital and would never say no to volunteer work. She knew all the Doctors names and where every department was in the hospital. She was a member of the Moving on Group at the Hospital and enjoyed spending time with people, especially her family. Vera loved bingo and traveling with friends. She will be sadly missed.

Vera is survived by her son Reverend James Proctor of Methuen, MA
Her sister Vilma "Cookie" and her husband Henry Consoli of Methuen, MA.
She is also survived by several Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Great Great Grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sons William and Robert Proctor
and her Siblings Angela, Robert, Sal, John, Viola, Geraldine, and Eddy.
Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, February 26th, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA.
Her services will take place on Friday, February 27th, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen, MA.
