Obituary

Worcester/Paxton: Alfred H. Marengo, Jr., 82, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2015 in Shrewsbury Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his beloved wife of 59 years, Doris A. (Mullaney) Marengo; 2 sons- James Marengo and his wife Gail of NH, and Andrew Marengo and his wife Tracy of Dudley; 5 daughters- Barbara and her husband Edward Farrington of Hudson, Suzanne Marengo of Millbury, Heidi and her husband Mark Smollin of Sterling, Lauren and her husband John Roy of Phillipston, and Melissa and her husband Ronald D'Andrea of Paxton; 13 grandchildren-Shauna, Jeffrey, Amanda, Kristina, Jessica, Edward, Teagan, Michael, Noah, Adam, Jacob, Julia, and Jaden; 6 great-grandchildren- Hayleigh, Anya, Kassidie, Nathan, Ruby, and Harrison; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Dorothy Kowalski and 2 brothers- William and A. Robert Marengo.



Al was born in Worcester, son of the late Alfred and Dorothy D. (Rollins) Marengo. He graduated from Commerce High School and attended college at the RCA Institute. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and worked for many years as a self-employed carpenter. He enjoyed cabinet making, photography, and learning new things. The family would like to thank the staff of Shrewsbury Nursing Home for their compassionate care of Al.



Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2015 from 1-3 p.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester, MA . A funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be on Monday March 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in Mooreland Cemetery, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association 480 Pleasant Street Watertown, MA 02472.
