William J. Leary Sr. 73, of Country Rd, died Saturday February 21, in the Philip Hulitar Center, Providence. He was the husband of the late Loretta (McCollops) Leary. He was born in Fine, NY, a son of the late Donald and Mildred (Forbes) Leary. Mr. Leary was an Army Reserve veteran of the Vietnam War and a retired Army Reserve veteran. He was also a diesel mechanic for Nissen’s Bakery, retiring in 1995.
He is survived by two sons; Patrick Leary of Fitzwilliam, NH, and William Leary Jr of Woonsocket, three daughters; Pamela Hamel of Cumberland, Patricia Leary of Woonsocket, and Tammy Pelland of Fitzwilliam, NH, nine grandchildren, and five great grandchildren, four sisters; Marie Belch of Cranston, Margaret Middlestate of Harrisville, NY, Catherine Jones of Owego, NY, and Mildred Robertson of Gouverneur, NY. He was also the brother of the late; Millard, Milton and Donald Leary Jr.
Friends and relatives are invited to meet Friday at 10:00 AM in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland, for a committal service followed by military honors.
