Obituary

Laconia-----Evelyn Ann Osterhaudt McDonald, 94, formerly of Lexington, Mass and Center Harbor, NH, died February 18, 2015 at St Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in the company of her family.
Evelyn was born in 1920 in Revere, Mass. the daughter of James and Lillian (Morante) Zirpolo. She graduated from Medford High School Medford, Mass in 1937. She began her secretarial career at Howes Leather in Boston, Mass. and was later employed by The Polaroid Corp. in Cambridge, Mass and MIT’s Lincoln Laboratories in Lexington, Mass. She joined The Mitre Corporation, in Bedford Mass. in 1959 as the executive secretary of the corporation’s founding president. After working as an executive secretary for forty-five years, she retired in 1985 and moved with her husband to her summer home on Squam Lake.
Evelyn enjoyed golfing, canoeing and swimming. She was a member of Waukewan Golf Course, Squam Lakes Association and Squam Lakes Natural Science Center. Evelyn spent winters in Bonita Springs, Fla. golfing and beachcombing.
Survivors include; a sister, Loretta Winn, of Gilford, NH; her nieces Andrea Castelli and Adrienne Talamas, her nephew Neal Talamas; and five grand nephews and grand nieces.
In addition to her parents, Evelyn was predeceased by her first husband Howard G. Osterhaudt in 1969, and her second husband John E. McDonald in 2007, and her nephew Glenn Talamas in 2012.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 10:00am – 11:00am at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 300 NH Rt. 25, Meredith, NH followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am also at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 300 NH Rt. 25, Meredith, NH. Pastor of the church Rev. Dennis J. Audet will be the celebrant.
Burial of the ashes will be in Middleneck Cemetery, Moultonborough at a later date.
