Leonildo DeSousa, age 83 of Fall River, passed away on Feb. 22, 2015 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in São Miguel, Açores, he was the loving husband of Fernanda (Lopes) DeSousa and the son of the late João and Maria dos Anjos (Faria) DeSousa. Prior to retiring, Leonildo worked for Duro Finishing as a Machine Operator. He was a parishioner of St. Michael’s Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his Children: Isabel Pavao (Husband Mario), John Sousa (Wife Judith), Fernanda DeSousa (Husband Owen Morrison), and Leonildo Sousa (Wife Kerry) all of Fall River; Grandchildren: Tara Pavao Turner, Kelly Pavao, Nicole Sousa, Nathan Sousa, Noah Sousa, Nicholas Sousa, & Nevan Sousa; Great grandson: Maxwell Turner; Brother: Edmundo DeSousa of Fall River; many Nieces and Nephews. Leonildo was predeceased by several Brothers and Sisters.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015 with calling hours from 9:00 -10:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael’s Church, Essex St. at 11:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
